About 8,100 Wyomingites work for federal agencies, including the Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Geological Survey and many others.

As federal job cuts take effect, we’re working to understand how they impact federal workers, their families and communities across Wyoming. Whether you’ve lost your job, are facing uncertainty or have insight into the broader effects of these layoffs, we want to hear from you.

Your perspective can help shed light on the real consequences of these cuts and how they’re shaping Wyoming’s public lands, national parks, workforce and economy.

Here’s how you can share your experiences with WyoFile

What we’d like to hear from you

The more details you provide, the more helpful it will be for our reporting. Consider answering these questions:

  • What agency do you work for?
  • What kind of work do you do?
  • Have you or your colleagues been encouraged to resign?
  • Have you or your colleagues been laid off?
  • How has information about layoffs and resignations been communicated?
  • If your agency faces staffing shortages, how might that impact its work? How could people in Wyoming be affected?
  • Has your agency been directed to stop or change its work? What has happened so far?
  • What else should the public know?

Please be as specific, detailed and clear as possible.
